As a part of her teaching at the Art Academy, artist Synne Bull organized the seminar titled “Re: place 6×6”. This was done in collaboration with Stephanie von Spreter and Fotogalleriet in Oslo, with international participants working in the field of art and students at the Academy of Fine Arts participating. The seminar was based on our concept of “place”, setting the basis of radically different perspectives.
In “Education reversed”, the art school was “re-located” with the art gallery, ie, a traditionally protected and educational environment was replaced by a public exhibition space. In addition, students were turned into “professors” and organized the content of the seminar. During the project, visitors at the gallery were encouraged to attend lectures and take part in discussions, performances and film screenings, in addition to the artworks on display.
